Student Union

In a few short weeks the UIS Student body is going to vote on whether or not to asses a fee that would be used to build a Student Union on campus. There are many pro’s and con’s but no definitive answer. I have no idea how I am going to vote. I would love to see the campus grow and know that a student union is the first step in that direction. I also like the idea of having a store on campus to buy basic things like milk and bread from. However, like many students, I’m hesitant to vote yes and pay $200 a semester for a building that I might not ever set foot in. I guess that I will have to make up my mind sometime in the next week. It will undoubtedly be a huge moment for this campus whether the referendum is passed or tabled, I am interested to see what happens.
